Christmas Carol Ball Ornaments

Words of Christmas Carols Decorate These Circle Ornaments

© Elece Hollis

These colorful ornaments use the words of familiar Christmas carols to decorate.

You will need a book of familiar Christmas carols or see my lists for words below. Cut circles six inches in diameter of heavy colored poster board or card stock. Begin by punching a hole in the top of the circle to hang it by.

Then using a colored fine tip marker or gel ink pen carefully begin lettering the song's lyrics starting at the top near the ribbon hole. Write around the edge in block print. Continue inward until you have lettered a verse or two around the circle spiraling toward the center.

At the center draw a small design or illustration or cut and paste one from a Christmas card. Thread bright colored ribbon through the hole and hang. To group these consider cutting the ribbons different lengths for a better effect.
