Even if a child loves sports, physical limitations, health, time, location, or finances, can prevent him from playing. With sports games kids can all be winners.
Children loves sports, but not all children have the opportunity to play sports. Board or computer games replace actual team or Olympic sports. These games provide an arena in which a child can be a participant and a winner in a sport he loves, without excessive expense or risk of injury and without time restraints. A child can also play as much or little as he chooses and when his schedule allows which is not a possibility with team sports.There are hundreds of sports games available in stores or on the internet. Computerized versions of football, baseball, basketball, soccer, golf and other sports may be what appeals to the child. There are PC versions of tennis, boxing and auto racing. These are referred to as EA sports or Electronics Arts Sports and many can be found through search engines such as Google. Some sites call sports games e-games – meaning they can be played online. Many are too complicated for young children but would present a challenge to tens and adults. Popular Computer GamesThe Madden Series of football games come are suitable for children and they have been around for long enough to gain name recognition. Madden NFL 10 is one of the latest editions. Madden also makes games that can be played on X-box, Playstation and Wii . The Wii versions gives children the extra exercise that they need. The fourth street games are technical, challenging, and difficult to learn. These games run about $60. a game. They come in board or computer versions. Replay Sports games allow a player to create his own teams or set up dream teams with known real life players. Games use dice and cards to play. For children who love baseball, one of the most interesting is Baseball Classics. These games run from $15 to $30. They can be purchased to in boxed sets featuring historic teams, world series sets by year, sets of major league teams or by seasons. Many come in egame versions. Some can be played online at the Baseball Classics site. Tabletop Board GamesA popular board game is the classic Bas-Net – a basketball game for children. Other tabletop board games can be purchased are a bowling game, games about the statistics of well-known teams and athletes, Monopoly versions of NFL football, even some monopoly boards designed with particular teams in the setup. The top ten sport board games are listed and sold on the Game Shop. Others may be found on Board Game Central. Even the game of chess comes in baseball, basketball, and football sets. There are few sports that have not been turned into a game form that can be played by sports aficionados of any age or size. They are great ways to learn about the sport and its history, its best players, and its favorite athletes. Consider tabletop games to be played during televised sports, to view during coverage of Olympic sports, to keep kids entertained in positive gaming as apposed to violent or fantasy type games. Sports give children healthy role models and real life heroes. Sports games for children are useful in teaching the need for teamwork, turn-taking and good sportsmanship. It also increases memory skills for children learning sports names and statistics. Whether the tabletop board game, PC game, e-game or Playstation versions are used, kids will enjoy playing sports games and becoming sports stars themselves.
