Hello Friends,
Fall is here--my favorite time of year! Cooler weather means the autumn leaves will be changing from green to reds, yellows, orange, purples, and golds.
When I was a child growing up in Michigan, my parents would take me out in the fall to gather beautiful leaves. We carried stems of leaves back home and arranged them in vases of all sorts. My dad was a forester and he knew leafing didn't harm the trees if we were careful and took from several trees.
We were able to enjoy the leaves and decorate with them during the season. This got us out in the bracing fall air and helped us learn about nature. We also learned to love and appreciate trees.
This article gives ideas for unique vases and ways of presenting leaf bouquets. It contains a list of possible nature touches to add interest and sparkle to the arrangement. A teacher can use this project to jump start some nature journaling and sketching with the goal of having the students learn more about plants in the process.
Take a look at my article, Fall Leaves Project Ideas, to get some fresh ideas for making up bouquets that will delght the recipients.
