Students who need practice reading can build self confidence by reading aloud to younger children.

Hello Everyone,

Summer is over and we will miss our reading hours at the public library. Do you have a student who needs practice in reading skills?

Reading aloud to younger children may be just the thing to encourage reading, to help a student gain confidence and reinforce primary reading skills. Reading to Children is an artcicle with suggestions on finding children who want to be read to, as well as pointers for the reader on selecting books and improving his reading techniques by reading to younger siblings, patients, daycare children, nursery children or children in school, library, or other public places.

How do you deal with a trouble maker during story time? How do you get children to listen? What techniques do good story tellers use to hold the attention of children with short attention spans? I hope you will enjoy this week's article .
