These simple activities help kids learn about water, snow and ice.

Are the kids anxious to get out in the snow? While the whole country is frigid with ice and snow and school is closed let the kids learn and have great fun in the process. Try activities like building snow castles and making colored snow lights. Help him make some snow goggles to learn about the reflective properties of white. Try some hands-on experiments to learn about the power of ice and if snow is really is clean as it looks. Find the directions in my article called Snow Wonder.

Also, while many think of feeding the birds during extreme cold weather, many forget to water them. Here are some easy birdfeeders kids can make and the how-to for temporary bird baths in winter.
